Zoom Out

ree

Your life is like a map.

Picture it: you’re standing at the “you are here” marker, looking through your usual lenses. You see what’s right in front of you — the street, the tree, the next bend. But when you zoom out, the view opens. Small towns appear, rivers ribbon across the land, whole ranges of hills come into focus. From that distance, a single dot is just a dot — not the whole story.

This morning I thought of life that way. We get swallowed by a single moment until it fills our whole view. That tiny blip can hijack our vision and make us forget the long trail of victories, mercies, and joy behind us. So here’s a nudge: zoom out.

How to Zoom Out

- Shift your focus. Intentionally move your eyes (and heart) from the problem to the bigger landscape of your life.

- Catalogue the good. Bring forward answered prayers, seasons of grace, quiet deliverance — the moments that testify to God’s faithfulness.

- Align with truth. Remember that every good and perfect gift comes from God; the same goodness that blessed your past is available now.

- Practice perspective daily. Make “zooming out” a habit when worry or fear starts to magnify a moment into a mountain.

Scriptures to hold on to

- James 1:17 — “Every good and perfect gift is from above…”

- Lamentations 3:22–23 — “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.”

- Romans 8:28 — “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him…”

- Psalm 103:2–5 — remember how God has forgiven, healed, redeemed, and satisfied you with good things.

- Philippians 4:8 — fix your mind on what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable.

A short prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for the fresh perspective you gave me today. When you whispered “Zoom Out,” my view shifted and I could see this moment for what it is — a small blip on the road map of my life, like the challenges that once felt insurmountable but passed by your grace. Thank you for your presence, wisdom, and mercy. I am grateful for you. Help me to keep rising in your ways, to walk in peace, and to find true joy in all I do.

Amen.

Closing

Zoom out. Let the wider landscape remind you whose hand has guided your journey and whose goodness still waits ahead. Remember—the best is yet to come. He has promised our latter days will be greater than our former days. The same God yesterday, today, and forever is ordering your steps, turning crooked paths into straight ones. God bless you always — sending love, light, and sparkle. ✨

- The Goodness of God — CeCe Winans

May these remind you of the goodness that awaits as you walk with the Lord.✨
